Bri Yi (she/her) is a 22-year-old Korean American actor based in Los Angeles. She's recently earned her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with an Emphasis in Acting at UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television. During her time at UCLA, she originated the role of Hungry Ghost in Red Bridal Veil by Ruochen Li and Soo Jai in A List of Happenings by Anna Watt — both original works developed within the department.
On screen, Bri made her film debut in Lux Carroll’s OPUS 1: f.u.n, which was named a Best Microfilm Finalist at the Cal Film Festival. She also spent three years as a cast member of Company, UCLA’s premier comedy sketch group and longtime host of Spring Sing, where she pitched, directed, and performed original sketches for audiences of over 8,000 people. In her senior year, a sketch she wrote solo was selected as one of four featured pieces performed at the event.
Bri is drawn to projects and ideas that combine two of her most valued aspects of storytelling: finding comedy grounded in painfully real characters/stories and the seamless inclusion of Asian women’s voices and perspectives.
